Cotton Traders & Emailvision - The Journey to Relevance
Founded in 1987 by two former England rugby captains, Cotton Traders clothing began advertising through Sunday newspapers. 22 years later the business has grown to over 700 employees, 80 high street stores across the UK and an annual turnover in excess of £50 million.
Cotton Traders mail order business now has over 2 million customers on its database, and produces 25 different editions of the catalogue each year, resulting in the despatch of over 100,000 parcels a month. The clothing range has expanded to cover leisurewear and casual clothes for both men and women, plus footwear and accessories.
Email marketing is used as a key part of the multi-channel marketing programme at Cotton Traders. Their marketing communications mix encompasses direct mail, newspaper and magazine inserts and print advertising. Approximately 40% of their mail order business now comes through their website and working with Emailvision has allowed Cotton Traders to develop their email marketing strategy. Working with Emailvision on their email marketing programme has allowed Cotton Traders to vastly improve their deliverability and overall email marketing return on investment.
